Welcome to  Georgia Biker Bashes.   Our goal is to give you complete coverage of the local Ga. biker scene.  We will be hitting local rallies, runs and bars and posting our reports and pictures from them.  You will not find a bunch of fluff articles nor coverage of large corporate rub fests.  You will only find stories by local bikers about local bikers.  We need you to contribute.  If you like to write and have a decent camera, send in an article and it just may get posted here.

Where does the name/word Suzuki come from?

Is there a translation of the word in English?

My best guess is:

Suzuki - noun, name of a bike that goes like lightning!

I have to agree with what I seen in the first few pages here. It means "passing on the left at a high rate of fuel" Look out HD a real bike is passing you(lmfao) no pon intended.Anyway I have a 1992 Suzuki 1100 Katana.(Kan-ah-tuna)lol. Anyway I have recently just given my bike a make over with the engine.I put a 1349 stroker kit($649) with Flat side carb($300) & K&N filters($170)D&D show n go pipes 4 into 1($600).Less my time putting all together.Took me about 2 wknds to do.Talk about fast OMG 240 with race fuel & she still wanted to go!.She does about 225 with regular gas(high test)And beats a Busa with ease!.ha ha ha ha

My little baby is a Sv-1000N, and the more bikes I test for the newspaper, the more I like my Sv :-))
But, it does only put about 115 bhp to the back wheel and it is a naked bike, so I "only" got it up to 160 mph....
But on track days and afternoon blast's with wheelies every time I hit second gear, it's a Blast, and that is what Suzuki means to me :-)

Suzkuki translates to........ Speed Up Sleep Kan U Katch It lol

I own a SUZUKI GSXR 750 SLINGSHOT and in my opinion this is by far the bike that without superbikes would not exist

sleek fast comfortably(sometimes) and downright sexy

i have pushed this 18yr old bike upto 185mph and it has only been tuned not heavily modded like some have to do to achive over 150mph

They make some pretty awesome bikes, but my current ride is a 2001 Suzuki Bandit GSF600s that I rode 4,500 kilometres round trip from Toronto to Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia. The only thing I'd change is the grips to get less vibration through the bars. Brillant bikes!

I've got a 1984 Suzuki GSX550. Sadly it won't run properly, prone to flooding itself when I back off the throttle. Have cleaned the carbs and replaced needle jets. Can anyone shed some light on my poorly Suzuki?

it's my favorite brand of motorcycle, i read the company started out producing textile weaving looms and started making and racing bikes in the early 50's(first it was mopeds), i have a gsxr
1000k5 and it's one of the fastest things on the road(my opinion)

Dig everybody's thoughts on Suzuki.... Gotta Burgman 650. Looks like a giant sport bike, but its a SCOOTER. Got it more for quick in-town stuff and going to work. Rode it last year to Reno/Tahoe cruising at a comfy 100 mph thru the Sierra's. Did a ride thru Carson River Cyn w/ Harley friends and they were intrigue by it. I LOVE my HARLEY, but so many interesting motorcycles outhere that turn me on! hahaha, go figure...

Right on!

My first post on this site.
I've had loads of old Suzukis 125-750, all GS/GSX models.

As a complete mentalist I rebuild them.

Currently rebuilding a '80 GS450 from bits lying 'round the garage.

Glad to see people from the UK.

Got a 05' 600 with speedhealer installed. MY fastest recorded speed is 172 MPH. HI-PO's here have recorded 147 MPH on me...not good on the wallet. Not enough for me, so soon to be installing a modified turbo and shooting for 200 MPH...this time ON A TRACK!!

Love my SUZUKI!
